The origin of the name

The word Maderoterapia®, in Spanish, calls to mind the meaning of “wood therapy,” but it is actually a nonexistent word in the dictionary of the Spanish language.

Wood is said “madera” not “madero” so the compound word was actually invented to make people recognize the massage technique performed with instruments made of wood.

The Manuel Casado method

The Maderoterapia® Manuel Casado method technique is based on a unique sequence created exclusively by Manuel Casado that combines manual lymphatic drainage massage with massage performed with wooden tools. These two techniques complement and enhance each other.

The use of natural wood tools allows stimulation of different areas of the body resulting in multiple positive effects (draining, reshaping and relaxing). The combination of hands and wooden tools creates the winning combination for immediate and pleasant results.

This massage technique has obvious benefits including: improvement of blood circulation, reduction of swelling, firming effect and improvement of muscle tone, anti-cellulite effect, mental and physical relaxation, treatment of back and limb problems, …

The role of the operator

Unquestionably, wooden tools come to the aid of the hands by enabling results that the hands alone would not be able to achieve, but it must never be forgotten that theoperator remains thedetermining factor.

Maderoterapia® Manuel Casado method is a technique that works on the lymphatic system so it cannot be performed only in certain parts of the body, but must follow a precise sequence dictated precisely by the functioning of the lymphatic system itself. Which leg should always be massaged first in lymphatic drainage massage? Only those who can answer this question correctly are practitioners who will know how to realize effective treatment.

The origin of modern rollers

Manuel Casado recounts. “During a vacation in Belgium I saw in a store a curious roller from 1920 , immediately struck by that strange object I bought it immediately in order to study it and calmly discover its “functioning.” Later I bought a second one in a store in England and the following is what I discovered. In 1920, PUNKT ROLLERS of the “Mark on the Brow” brand were born in Germany and were offered as self-massage rollers. There were various models all with wooden handles, some had a central body consisting of 4 or 3 rubber sections with small holes in which interchangeable suction cups were placed, others had knurled balls in the central part and…”

“A healthy spirit cannot live in a strained body.”
